Does InDesign CS2 work with Snow Leopard

As long as you install Rosetta when installing Snow Leopard, InDesign CS2 will run fine.... with one major glitch that I've noticed so far.

Often if you edit text, move a text box around, cause the text to reflow (or do anything that effects text) the text appears to disappear.

It's still there though, you just need to click back in the text box with the type tool and the text is re-drawn again.

Its really frustrating, and adds an extra click to everything you do.
At the end of the day though, if you're willing to put up with the frustration, or only have to use CS2 occasionally it seems to work okay with the exception of the text issue.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix the text issue?

I seem to recall a similar situation when Leopard first came out. I think an Apple fixed it with an OS update. I'm half way through a 128 page magazine and my client won't upgrade to CS4 so I'm stuck in CS2 for the next 64 pages!

I agree this is helpful. I have a need to open and save documents in ID2 before I work with them in CS3 InDesign.

Haven't had any problems up to this point on Leopard. So I hope SL works equally as well.

An update from me too;

I've just added another 8GB of memory to my mac (2007 MacPro Quad workstation) on top of the 2GB that was already in there.

Pleased to say that the problems I was having with vanishing text in InDesign CS2 appears to have been resolved and everything feels generally a lot snappier system wide. Also my disk drive seems a lot quieter which I put down to possibly less buffering / scratch disk action going on.

So I guess it was a lack of memory causing the disappearing text in ID CS2 & Rosetta.

I'm happy again now. Best £130 I've spent.
Currently no problems with InDesign CS2 and Snow Leopard.

I've been having the same problem with InDesign CS2. After reading your post I shut everything down and re-started InDesign on its own and that fixed it. I 'only' have 2GB of memory, though.

(And still OK with Camino open as well.)

Although strangely I can't now reproduce the error no matter how many applications I have open at the same time.

InDesign 4.0.5 is causing me real problems on Snow Leopard, and I'm considering rolling back to Leopard (which worked fine) unless there is a fix to this soon. As well as the disappearing text display problem that others have mentioned, InDesign is very hit and miss when it comes to exporting PDFs - often hanging during the process and then crashing. Error message is posted below. For me, this makes CS2 unusable, but I have a number of ongoing projects that have to remain in this format!

I'm not having any issues running both CS2 and CS3 InDesign on Snow Leopard. I need them both so I was worried initially, but I held my breath and installed SL with Rosetta, no problems whew!

Adobe is not too quick to fix issues on the OS X platform so you may need to address the issues yourself. If it were a Windows platform, it would a totally different story from Adobe and they would knock down walls to address any issue.

Thank goodness Apple did a great job on Rosetta.

I'm having similar problems with pdfs creation crashing the program. From what I can gather it seems to be when eps files are involved. I tried a page without the eps and it went trough fine, but when I added it back in, bang the programme crashed.

Yes it does you need to download rosseta i think thats how you spell it it works on my system
