Since Snow Leopard Unable to turn off Airport on MBP

Has anyone else got this problem. Since doing the upgrade I can't turn off my MBP Airport. It's working fine in all other respects, and at least it's fixed on and not off, but it's still a bit annoying.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6), iPhone 3G OS 3.0, Airport Extreme, Airport Express

Same issue here as well. I'm able to connect to wireless connections and everything else is working fine in terms of connectivity. When I try to switch the connection OFF, it still stays ON. To get this working I have to reboot the system and then it's back to the same rotation. I'm going to mess around with some setting tonight and report back. Hopefully there will a fix for this. Peace.

Certainly. Open up System Preference. Go to the apple icon in the top left and click on "System Preferences" option. Select the "Network" option under "Internet & Wireless". Click on the Location drop-down and then select "edit locations". Click on the plus ➕ sign. You can name the location whatever you'd like. By default it's "untitled". Hit done and you've set-up a new location. That should solve the problem. Hint: you can always change the location back to "automatic" or go back in and delete this new location by selecting it and using the minus ➖ button.

Dick,

Two ways to go on this... You can use Super Duper (which just updated to SL support), or plain old disk utility. I had made an image of my 10.5.8 system, erased and partitioned the external USB drive, then used disk utility to restore the original 10.5.8 system to that drive.

I booted my MBP with the DVD (and Option key) from a cold start, selected the Install disk to boot from and installed SL to the external drive. It is working perfectly (meaning the external drive) for testing. Still allows me access to my other externally connected FW and even SATA drives (reinstalled the SI3132 driver). When I think I've read enough and tested my own stuff enough, I'll update the onboard hard drive.

Even running from an external USB, there is a very noticeable performance difference (for the good) running Snow Leopard. Now if they can fix some of these issues, get an SIL3132 SATA driver that is certified, etc..
