Toast Titanium Pro 10 and Snow Leopard

Same here. Toast 6 quits immediately on launch.

Looks like we're using the exact same computer. I wonder if it matters which model you are using?

I tried reinstalling Toast 6 Titanium but it did not have any effect.

I have Toast Titanium 9.0.5 and 10.0.2. In neither case can I get the main program (Toast) itself to load under Snow Leopard on my Mac Pro. It just hangs, requiring a "force quit" and sends a notification to Apple. This has happened repeatedly with both versions. In fact, I purchased 10 because 9 wouldn't work with SL. Not sure what the "hangup" is, but I am not happy right now.

Beta testers reported 7, 8, 9, and 10 all worked. I have 10 and it works.

Yes, I found a copy of Toast 7 Basic that came with a Lacie burner I bought a while back and it works fine with 10.6.1. I still wish my Titanium 6 worked, though, since I can't afford to spend any money on upgrading 7 or buying 10.

Rebooting the system several times (don't ask why) finally cleared out whatever clutter and cruft was preventing either 9 or 10 from running. Alas, I now have both.

Toast Titanium launches but I have not verified if DVD creation works. I mainly use the Toast app to transfer content from my TIVO to my Mac Mini. TIVO Transfer does not work under Snow Leopard.

Unlike one of the other posts, TIVO Transfer worked under Leopard for me.

I have Toast 8 and my last 2 burns along with 3 encoding conversions to be used on my iPhone all produced skips. I therefore used HandBrake for the encoding conversions successfully. So I'm wondering if I have to move up to Toast 10 to eliminate the coasters or go open source.

I also have Toas 9.05 and it has worked as a dream until now. Only difference is that I use Snow Leopard..
The program starts a buringsession and stop working after a couple of minutes (around 7%) I have spoiled around 7 DVD.s today?
Are we just two having this problem?

Toast 6 will not open. Tries to but doesn't make it.

There does come a point when one needs to upgrade to the current version of any software, Mac or other operating systems. Toast is currently at 10.x, downloading the latest update (1003.544) as I type. Good deal, their servers are reasonably fast <g>. Point is, being major revs behind eventually fails, as it seems to have in your situation...

Still crashing randomly with 10.0.3 and OS 10.6.1. No failed burns though. Very irritating

I have just purchased Toast (Titanium 10.0.5) and installed it on my Snow Leopard iMac (10.6.2).

I have a series 3 Tivo HD and got the software because I wanted the "Tivo Transfer" and "Mac2Tivo" applications.

I can confirm that both work no problem 🙂.

When I first installed the software from the download (got it from Roxio) it did not work (didn't find my Tivo). So I looked for an update and downloaded 10.0.5 and it worked with no problem at all.

In all this was pretty easy to get working (I have had much harder challenges in the past 🙂 so go for it.
