Customize Default COMMAND-F Search Criteria?

In Mac OS X 10.5, one could customize the default search criteria used by COMMAND-F, so for example, the default search would be by file name and include system files. (See Change Finder's Find Window - http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080229204517495 ).
The tips posted there do not work for me in 10.6. Does anyone know how to accomplish this in Snow Leopard?

baltwo: Thank you for the workaround. I followed the instructions and saved it as an application. When I open the application, the saved search window opens, but no criteria are visible. I must be doing something wrong, but I've checked it several times and can't figure out what it is. If you are willing, I will send screenshots to your email address shown on the workaround page so you can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please let me know if that would be OK by replying to this post. Thanks.
