Agfa ScanWise cannot find Colorsync System Profile

Another casualty in Snow Leopard. My Agfa Scanner uses Scanwise 2.1fc2 (the last from Agfa). It worked OK in Leopard.

Now when it starts I get" ScanWise can not find the current ColorSync System Profile. Please recalibrate your monitor or select another system profile with the ColorSync Control Panel".

Hi,

I too found that ScanWise would not run under Snow Leopard. Using the tips in this thread, I've just got my Agfa SnapScan 1212u to be recognised and used by SANE.

I did need to find the firmware bin file and edit the snapscan conf file to find it.

It is a pity that ScanWise cannot find the ColorSync profile, as ScanWise had a few more tricks than "Scan Again".

Let's hope someone find a way to get ScanWise to work.

FWIW, went to the vuescan website (new version just released), but the Agfa SnapScan touch is unsupported!! Most of the other Agfas are supported, probably this one's not because of its "one touch" buttons, which I never use anyway. Wonder if the normal scanning functions would work via vuescan, but not willing to pay $40 to find out. Anyway, if you go vuescan, remember to check to see that your scanner is supported first!

Hmmm. I've never used the one touch button on my 1212u either. I've lost track, but my scanner must be nearly 10 years old. I'm not about to pay any money for new scanning software for it. I think this is telling me I need to buy a new one. Too bad because this thing still works for my in Tiger. I guess the real culprit here is Agfa for deserting the scanner business.

Regards,
Steve M.
