How easy is it to make an encrypted DVD?
What is the procedure?

Any clues appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure what you mean encrypted.

If you mean not copied, CSS and Macrovision on replicated discs (though both cvan be defeated)

If you mean hidden sections, such as on Harry Potter, where you need to solve a puzzle to get access to other features, then scripting (though people can peak under the hood anyway if they want, but since it really is just for fun.)

And you can try to encrypt DVD-Rom data to some degree or another where people will need a password to open the file or even do somesort of client server app to the web....

It's Pretty Easy. But I Don't ever do it because it is so simple for anyone to rip my production or any Hollywood DVD anyway. They need to come up with a new method. But to make Them have to use a program to rip it instead of just dragging it to there computer. Click on the Gray background in the graphical view. Then in the inspector (The window in the bottom right hand corner) Click On Region/Copyright. And check the copyright management box. There you have all your options. But I am pretty sure you have to burn it out of DVD Studio Pro. Hope this helps.

Replicators create DVD-VIDEO discs by physically pressing discs - these are the titles you buy in stores. DVD-R and DVD+R are different formats than DVD-VIDEO, even though the result is the same. These formats do not support CSS encryption.

DVDSP has the ability to set the CSS flags in DDP images used by replicators to create DVD-VIDEO discs with CSS encryption from DVDSP.

Go to format and set it to HDD...now select DDP 2.0. It will build folder(s) called LAYER_0 OR LAYER_0 AND LAYER_1 (if you happen to be making a DVD-9 (dual layer).

These DDP file is what is sent to the replicator to create the titles...make sense? 🙂

The combination of equal opportunity replier and your excellant description made it all possible, so I dedicate the award in part to you, though it will remain on shelf in my room. You are more than welcome to visit it 🙂

Sorry have to run, Joan Rivers is waiting for me backstage right now for one of those interview thingies she does....
