Equilizer Presesets from iTunes to iPod

Hi,

Hopefully there's someone who can fill me in on this issue, here it is:

If I have songs set to use specific Equizer Presets in iTunes and I transfer those songs to my iPod Touch, will those presets remain on the iPod.

Example

*song1.mp3 set to "Classical" equilizer in iTunes*
*song2.mp3 set to "Rock" equilizer in iTunes*
*song3.mp3 set to "Acoustic" equilizer in iTunes*

I transfer these three songs to my iPod Touch. Will those presets remain for those songs on the iPod; will:

*song1.mp3 set to "Classical" equilizer in iTunes* use the "Classical" equilizer on my iPod without me having to got to:

*Settings > Music > EQ* and setting it to Classical? Or will whatever the iPod equilizer is set to overide this setting?

Hope this makes sense.

Kind regards,

Peter.

It's not easy to find, Peter, but here is the Apple advice: "Equalizer: Adding EQs to playback uses more of your iPod processor, since they aren’t encoded in the song. Turn EQ off if you don’t use it. _If, however, you’ve added EQ to tracks in iTunes, you’ll need to set EQ to “flat” in order to have the effect of “off,”_ *because iPod keeps your iTunes settings intact*." http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html

Based on that, I would say you should set your iPod equalizer settings to "flat" to allow the iPod to use the settings you made in iTunes.

I'll give that a go, it sounds like exactly what I was looking for, so thankyou very much for the advice.

Just to be clear:

*If I set the equiler on my iPod Touch to "Flat", then the custom equizizer presets for my songs that I specify in iTunes will follow through on my iPod*

Example:

*Classical tracks set to "Classical" will use that EQ as opposed to being played at the "Flat" settings?*

Sorry if I sound really dumb here, and personally I feel a little dumb being a Mac user for over 15 years... (sigh)

Actually, you do not need to have the iPod EQ set to Flat.

If the EQ is set to Off, no songs will play with any EQ.
If the EQ is set to to Flat songs with no EQ preset will play flat. Songs with an EQ setting will play with that preset EQ setting.
If the EQ is set to anything other than Flat or Off, songs with no EQ setting will play with the EQ setting of the iPod. Songs with a preset EQ setting will play with that preset EQ setting.
