Fuzzy Icons

All too often icons in Finder begin to display very pixelated (at all resolutions & in both icon view & cover flow). This happens only to folder icons that I created on my own from image files. They worked like a charm in Tiger and Leopard, but Snow Leopard chokes on them.

One really odd thing is that one or two will show up fuzzy... then five... pretty soon all of them. Kind of like a zombie movie.

Restarting Finder fixes this problem, but it soon starts again.

Anyone else have this problem?

I've also been encountering the same problem with various icons - started when I installed Google Chrome recently, and has spread into system icons such as System Preferences and Stickies, which I didn't even have open at the time. A restart and software update made no difference - the Onyx fix detailed above worked perfectly but only temporarily. Hoping this gets addressed in a future update!

This problem just began for me this week, and I've had 10.6 installed on this machine since I bought it last fall. I first noticed it with my Adobe icons (Bridge, Photoshop), and it seems to consistently represent them fuzzy, while other programs that I've launched don't necessarily come up fuzzy. I'll try a restart, but I think people are right that something is getting cached incorrectly.
