Canon IR C3200 driver 1.81 no longer work with Snow Leopard
After upgraded to Snow Leopard, the Canon IR C3200 driver PS 1.81 no longer work. Does any one know how to post a support question for Canon support?
I browse Canon's web site but could not find any link or support email address to ask question!
Okay, after much fooling around I got it to work. First, I uninstalled all of the drivers, made sure I installed Rosetta from the system disk, then made sure that I selected "open with Rosetta" for each of the installers before launching the installers. Next, out of frustration, when adding a new printer, I chose "IP" then "HP Jetdirect - Socket" from the pull down menu, even though everywhere else seems to suggest using Line Printer Daemon. Entered the IP address for the printer (which you must get from the printer itself), ImagePASSC1Print for the queue, in the name field enter "imagePASS-C1_Print" (notice the underscore in the queue vs. the dash in "name" between ImagePASS and C1, yes it makes a difference), then selected driver Canon iR C3200-C1 PS Ver2.1 from the pull down menu. EUREKA. I have the printer wired via an ethernet cable to an airport extreme base station and it now all works. Who do I send the bill to? Please leave feed back to let me know if this worked for you.
Oh, not sure if it makes a difference or not, but I also went into the airport utility and made sure that I selected "allow printer setup over WAN." I did this before my final assault on the print launchers, etc.
oh yeah, one more thing. Very UN Mac, VERY uncool. Bring back Appletalk. Whose bright idea to phase it out and make my computer more PC like? My recent experience with this issue sounds like all the complaining I used to hear my friends doing regarding their PC's. What's next, C drive issues?
