what does ECC disabled mean

have upgraded to snow leopard on browsing system profiler i notice in memory it says Ecc disabled what does this mean

It means your RAM does not use error correction. This is normal for your machine (MacBook Pro). Google is your friend http://www.google.com/search?q=ecc+memory
