Lexmark E260d -- Very Pleased
I'm very pleased with the Lexmark E260d. The driver is included in Snow Leopard which automatically created a print queue as soon as I connected it to USB. It prints fine, even duplex, from everything, including Microsoft Office X running under Rosetta. To print out of Parallels Desktop 4.0, I had to turn on Printer Sharing (Mac OS/System Preferences/Sharing/...) and download and install Apple Bonjour for Windows (free) from the PC environment and set it up thusly, which took about 2 minutes.
It's $200 ($250 for the E260dn -- the "n" is for network printer -- driver is in SL). Lexmark toner cartridges are more expensive than others but have a proportionately larger capacity. It's fast. The specs say first page out in 6.5 seconds (comparable HP is 8.5) but I counted 4.5.
Hey, HP. Step into my office. Why? Because you're fired!
