Epson R1900 printer & Snow Leopard

I have always had superb results with the Epson Stylus Photo R1900 (A3), until I installed Snow Leopard - now I cannot get a decent photograph no matter how much I tinker with the settings. I am using the recommended driver.

Snow Leopard? S'no use!!

Ernie,

Thanks so much. This was an "open box" purchase of a returned printer, but it never occurred to me that the heads would already be clogged! I tried using the cleaning utility, but it was unable to get the heads cleaned. So, I think that I am going to return this one and buy one that has not been used. This is still the printer I want.

Well, Siomn from Suffolk, I followed the instructions in your post, to the letter, (even sacrificing the drivers of my old SP1290) BUT the end result was worse than the starting point, in that I had an error message when trying to print:-
"Offline, you need to install software to use this printer...etc."
So: bad result for R1900, OSX10.6.2
Sorry

I'm having the opposite problem, since going to OSX 10.6.2 and Drivers 6.62 for the Epson R1900 my print have been a little over saturated printing from CS4 using the Premium profiles.
The prints use to be spot on using 10.6.1 and R1900 drivers 6.20.
I tried going back to using the 6.20 drivers but still the same a little over saturated.
So now back to using OSX 10.6.2 and R1900 drivers 6.62 😟
