Why not just send me your email and I can send it to you from there.. Do you have skype or ichat? Hotmail won't allow me to send the file because its too big to send as an email attachment. Or do you have another idea on how I can get this to you?

Hi, If emailing the Apple Hardware Test 2.0.2 is out, could someone please send it FTP, if this is possible, please advise. My Powermac G4 MDD is freezing, quitting apps, thinking it may be a slowly failing Power Supply, although I would prefer to test all the hardware before pulling out the PayPal wallet. Thanks!!

I'm looking for AHT 1.2.7 at least I think that's what I'm looking for. I have an iBook G4 manufactured in mid 2005. No original DVD's. I downloaded the AHT from http://www.info.apple.com/support/aht.html but it just boots the Mac into Open Firmware mode.

Problem with Mac is it never boots. It just sits at the grey screen with the grey apple logo and nothing happens. I removed the hard drive and managed to make a complete image of the drive with WinHex. The fact that I could make an image with no errors tells me there is a good chance the drive is not the problem.

I'll mention that I have a set of original DVD's from another iBook G4 that I have tried on this iBook but it just hangs the iBook at a black screen with a pointer.

The DVD shows the following.

Mac OS version 10.3.3
AHT version 2.2
DVD version 1.1
691-5029-A

As I don't care about the data on the drive I overwrote the 1st million sectors as well as the last million sectors of the drive with zero's and attempted to install the OS using the above DVD but it hangs as I stated above. My reason for over writing those sectors is to eliminate file system errors from the equation.

Thanks very much japamac but as it turns out that one didn't work either but I did manage to correct my problem and determine that the hardware is working fine.

So, you have access to all the apple hardware cd's?

What MDD do you have? If you have the FW800 model, then 2.0.1 is what you need.. and I can provide that for you also... email me for details.

Do you still have a copy of AHT 2.0.2 that you could send me.

For your MacPro model, the AHT may have been on a separate disc or on the restore disc. You can call Apple Customer Support 1-800-767-2775, provide the Serial Number and specifications of the Mac, and for a fee, replacement discs (if available), can be ordered.
