How to use external Microphone in Logic pro 8?

Still no signal, what kind of mic are you using?

OK in audio preferences, turn off 24bit recording ( you don't need it ) , turn off Independent monitoring level.

The rest seems fine.

This is strange, the Icicle does not appear to have an output, yet you can assign it in AMS...?

Unfortunately I could not find a manual on Blue's website, just a shop leaflet PDF they call manual. Nowhere was any mention of an output though...
Does it have a headphone jack hidden somewhere? If so, that is where you should plug in your headphones or monitor system. If not, create an aggregate device in which the *Icicle is the Input* and your Macs *Built in Audio is the Output*. Otherwise you'll never hear anything from Logic.

I know, I DL'ed it. It is a leaflet. I did however also discover that it has 16 bit 44.1 kHz AIF converters (which makes sense, since it costs 75 euro), but in Leza's screenshots both the input and the (ghost) output are set to *24 bits*, which doesn't make sense either. I have never been able to set a 16 bit DAC to 24 bits in OS X. It is all a bit puzzling. Also the lack of specs on the Blue site. Maybe the product is only just out?

Hi, I have been having the same external mic problems but with the Audiotechnica 2020. The advice to configure it with both the mic AND the output worked!!

I went to AUDIO/MIDI setup in the Utilities folder and made an aggregate device using my AT2020, the input and the output.

Then I selected my new aggregate in the audio folder in LogicPro.
