Snow Leopard-Exchange Mail: duplicate messages

I installed Snow Leopard this weekend and I am now receiving duplicate messages on all new mail items. Anything that's been read is fine, but all new messages come through with 2 items instead of one.
-If I log into Webmail, though, it only shows one message
-My iPhone only shows one message

I was using Entourage before, but have not used it since installing Snow Leopard. Plus, after installing Snow Leopard (Friday) I did not receive duplicates. I've looked for MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 but it does not exist.

Any solutions? It's quite annoying.

I've had the same problem as the person with the Blackberry. Except it doesn't matter if it's opened or closed...as long as I open a new message on Mail it will get resent. Also, if I click on an old message in Mail in order to reread it gets resent as well.

Of course this only started after upgrading.

Same problem here. Duplicate e-mails are suddenly appearing once I installed Snow Leopard. It doesn't matter whether I've already read them or not. It's happening with mail on Rogers in Canada. The only work-around (and this is not a fix) is to delete the e-mails from my Rogers inbox automatically once I move them to my On My Mac folders. But this really must be fixed properly soon.

confused need help:

First of all, welcome to the apple forums. However, if your issue is not related to duplicate email messages in Snow Leopard Mail and Microsoft Exchange 2007, but rather your inability to authenticate to your me.com account only, I would encourage you to post your own new thread or research other threads in this forum concerning password issues for a solution. It is not apparent from your post that your problem is related to duplicate messages and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

To post a new thread, note the "Post New Topic" icon and link underneath the "Forum : Mail and Address Book" heading here. You may have better luck in getting your problem addressed without muddying the waters here with unrelated problems. Unless you are getting that popup while attempting to access your Microsoft Exchange account, but that was not apparent from your post.

That said, try deleting your smtp.me.com entry in your keychain and resave it anew next time in Mail. Hope that helps!

All, I shut time machine off (I have a time capsule) and I didn't see the duplicate messages for a few days. Once I turned it on, problem again. So time machine is doing something funky with the messages or touching a file that it shouldn't be which is causing the problem.

Apple, I hope this helps you reproduce the problem...

I am having the same issue. After days, or weeks, of successful Apple Mail use once again Mail has duped all my messages. It is with every account, so I would guess it is not the account setup dialogue. (and these accounts have been set up for over a year with no problem)

More info to help perhaps. I have a lot of messages in the inbox's. I have slipped in my Getting Things Done Zero INbox practice, now after the dupe bug my indicator has 27086 messages. Perhaps this is a memory/capacity issue.

I am running the MailScrips tool to remove the dupes which successfully eliminated them last time and everything was fine for a couple of weeks. When that is done I can report the number that were eliminated.

I thought that it had been fixed by using the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 deletion and it did for about 3 days. It's all back now with all of my messages duplicated including those that I had already read. I spend about 15 minutes each day getting rid of duplicated messages. I'm about ready to switch to another mail program. Any ideas? I hated the new version of Entourage. It looks like something from the early 80's.

Same here. Today Mail started duplicating some messages I received today from my POP account. I configured my POP account to leave the messages there for a day, so I can read them via Webmail too. Worked for years.

Edit: Additionally some already read mails are popping up as unread. Sometimes really old ones.
