After Snow Leopard upgrade, bluetooth mouse connects but keyboard will not
I have already reset the SMC.
Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Yes, but EVERY time I reboot the computer? My A1016 pairs up fine every time, but why do I now have to do this after every re-boot? Until I upgraded from Tiger, the only time I paired the keyboard was the very first time I used it!
I had similar problem and solved it. My Apple 2007 wireless keyboard was recognized by my iMac 3.06 GHz on OS X 10.6.8 but would not connect issuing message "This device has insufficient ...". But Apple pages stated compatibility. Four successive attempts to Find the keyboard finally resulted in it being listed under Devices in Bluetooth dropdown. By then clicking Open Keyboard Preferences I was able to get an 8-digit pairing code, enter it and success. All this took about 7-8 minutes, but I am typing this reply on that keyboard.
My wife's new MacBook is having the same problem...every time she powers it up or wakes it she needs to re-pair the keyboard, which usually takes multiple attempts. Is there no way to permanently fix this problem? i don't see the need to go out & spend $70 for a chicklet keyboard when there is likely nothing wrong with this one besides some bluetooth driver laziness on Apple's part.
And yes,we've tried all the plist/pram suggestions with no apparent benefit.
I'm having the same problem as Bob. Bluetooth is working, but I have to re-pair my trackpad and keyboard literally after every single reboot. I wish it would just stay paired so I wouldn't have to do that.
