Third-Party Menu Extras

I attempt to turn my menu extra(MenuMeters) on through system preferences and I get a message saying I have to enable third-party menu extras... how do I do this???

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6), Mid 2007 model

MenuMeters won't work in Snow Leopard without an upgrade. Do you have a version that has been released in the last couple days? I don't know if it's available yet.

iStat Menus 2 does similar things, looks better, and came out with a Snow Leopard version last week, FYI.

Me too, I've got the latest version of MenuMeters, but OS X tells me to see the documentation for enabling third-party menu extras. Well, I can't find any such documentation anywhere!

This is strange... I am having the same problem.. but after installing on my iMac Menu Meters works fine... very troubling
