What??? No new Touch with a camera??

sheesh, the Nano gets a camera and the Touch is essentially the same "old" Touch with a larger option now of 64GB. YAWN!!!!

Not true. The 32GB model also runs faster, so there is a hardware change with that model. And of course the 64GB model is new and thus could easily run the latest software.

This is not a case of just changing the prices of old models. We're talking new hardware here.

Now I'm stuck b/w getting the new ipod touch vs the 2nd gen touch.

For me, 16gb is the perfect size. 32gb is too much and I don't think 8gb is enough. Now, the new touch doesn't come in 16. Oh grief.

agreed, and seems to be the order of the day lately, with the glossy screens, wifi woes on iPhone/Touch OS's, dropping Firewire, funky Shuffle with control issues on the headphone cable, Apple TV that confuses the public as to it's reason for being... what am I forgetting as far as recent missteps?

I was all set to order a new iPod Touch with a camera today... to replace my 2nd generation without the camera...

Well, I guess I will keep my money in my pocket...
I know we can't speculate but it has to be coming in the future if the Nano got it...

It seems to me they made some without the camera in the first place.

Maybe the Nano is an iPod camera exclusive deal. I mean the iPod Touch has everything.

dude, hello?? The Touch is more less on a par with the iPhone, and since the Touch has been unchanged for a YEAR, common sense says that Apple NEEDS to tempt us consumers with SOMETHING NEW. Get it? Something is screwy with this picture and I'm wondering why all the 'net buzz about camera module issues when the iPhone ALREADY has a camera in it.

Even if the new iPod Touch had a camera, I still don't that that would have made for much of an event. An iPod gets a camera? Fine, put it up on the website and be done with it. It's not event-worthy. The only thing event-worthy about today was Steve Job's appearance. People are waiting for the tablet, and they're waiting for redesigned iMacs. Until then, yawn.

this is my problem. i've bitten the bullet and ordered a new 32GB though, can always sell it on ebay if a new one comes out
