Ipod adapter for Kia Soul NOT WORKING ANYMORE for Iphone??????

I recently bought a Kia Soul about a month ago. I also bought the extra 30 dollar connector for my iphone. The dealer told me he didnt know anyone who used an iphone on it so I plugged mine in and it worked! I had full access to my dashboard controls on my car. There was a little message that popped up that said "accessory not compatible with iphone" but i just clicked the No button and it still worked for a whole month PERFECTLY. Now, recently it has acted up, disconnecting and reconnecting by itself and not giving me the controls on my dashboard. I can manually select the music and it still will play. I just cant access my dashboard controls and control my iphone through my car itself. I haven't updated my iphone recently and haven't done anything to it. We tested my cable with a brand new cable and it has the same problem. I used a regular ipod and the ipod gives me the full on controls in the dashboard. Why am I not able to get the full control via dashboard anymore? It worked perfectly for a whole month and a half. This is strange, can anyone help me?
