iTunes 9 won't sync playlists with podcasts

Any playlists (smart or regular) with any podcast item will no longer sync or even be listed for syncing to any hardware (fails with iPhone, iPod, Touch). Worked perfectly fine on iTune 8.2.1. APPLE - PLEASE FIX ASAP!!

MacPro, Mac OS X (10.6)

I had a similar problem with my Nano. It convinced me to convert some of my Podcasts to AAC and listen to them as regular songs.
