iTuens 9 - Recently Added all mixed up

I too was having the same difficulty in syncing iTunes (9.0) and iPhone 3Gs (3.1) specifically with Smart Playlists for Podcasts.

Turning off Live Updating did nothing to help. And as many pointed out is not a good solution. Why did we create all of these Smart Playlists if they are not going to automatically update with new podcasts?

With the iPhone connected I turned off all syncing, sync'd the iPhone, turned back on syncing podcast playlists, and then resync'd. That is to say at the top of each 'tab' for the iPhone Device in iTunes (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, etc.) I unchecked the Sync box. I then sync'd the iPhone with just applications without any media. I then slowly added data/playlists from each media tab.

But I only selected the playlists from the podcast tab. I did not "Automatically include '3 most recent' episodes of 'selected podcasts.'" I left this box unchecked. When I tried this option in conjunction with my selected playlists things went awry.

I hope this helps some folks.

I'm having the same problem. The problem is the iphone 3.1 software and unchecking the "live sync" option for the smart playlist fixes the issue. Downside of this is of course that this takes the smart out of the smart playlist.

Same problem here! Driving me crazy. GET ON IT APPLE. I didn't pay to update my software so that every thing would be out of order.

Noticed my Recently Added smartplaylist looks correct on my iPhone 3GS running OS 3.1 this AM...??? Unfortunately, my other smartplaylists are still out of order when compared to what's listed in my iTunes library... Anyone else's Recently Added playlist looking any better?

another "me too" my recently added playlist is all mixed up. only happened since i installed the new update. tried to restor ipod thinking it would fix it but no such luck! APPLE PLEASE HELP!

yeah me too. i hate it. its so annoying. but i hope apple does something about it pronto cause its frustrating.

Same here. Quick work around is to create another smart playlist that contains the recently added playlist.

Same problem as everyone else! Unacceptable Apple!!!!!! Problem should never have happened in the first place and now its been over 15 days without a fix.

+1 more to the list of frustrated users with a mixed up Recently Added Playlist. Please get a hurry on it Apple, usually you guys have stuff fixed faster than this.

iPhone OS 3.1.2 does NOT solve this problem.
