iTunes 9 and iPhone OS 3.1 Smart list syncing problem

All of my iTunes Smart lists (Top Rated, Recently Added etc) after upgrading to iTunes 9 and iPhone OS 3.1 are all mixed up on my phone. The songs appear how I want them to in iTunes but not no my iPhone 3G with iPhone OS 3.1, instead they are all mixed up.

Help! does anyone know how to fix this?

Is anyone else having the same problem?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6), iPhone 3G - OS 3.1

Unsurpringly I have exactly the same problem - huge annoyance! Playlist order matching (and playback position syncing) are the main reasons I use my iPod over my Nokia.

I'm also having an issue where the device drivers reinstall everytime I plug in my iPod - but that's for another thread.

Having the same problem. The smart playlists I have show up on my iPhone but the content is all wrong.

Im adding my voice to this problem. Smart Playlists are broken on both iPhone 3.1 and tv 2.4

Yep, Same here too. Very annoying to say the least. plus many songs not crash the iPod on the iPhone when you press the genius button.

Was anyone's problem get resolved with iTunes 9.0.1? The iTunes update didn't make a difference for me.

Same Problem in 9.01 (9) as in 9.0 The upgrade said it fixed the problem but it did not. I sync all my Tech Podcasts in release date order so I can listen to them in order with out fumbling with my iPhone while driving when a podcast is over. and has anyone else noticed since 3.0 and 3.1 the iPod app is extremely slow?

Yes. iPhone 3.1 is a bag of hurt. The phone occasionally goes into a coma, and many apps crash, including the iPod app.

Wow, this worked! My playlist is made up of Podcasts rather than music and there is no "Playlist--is--Podcast" rule toggle, so I thought it wouldn't help me. I added a "Playlist--is not--Music" rule to my existing rule, and the order on my iPhone now matches iTunes! Thanks Dave and Joel

I am also having problems with this. I listen to audiobooks and having them in order is essential. I really like the live updating so I don't have to know what segment I just finished when I stop. I loved this feature and hate to see it go away. Please bring it back.
