I spent about 20 minutes on the support line with apple and you have to change your ip address to something started with like a 192. if your ip address on the current ipod that is giving u the "invalid argument" then the ip address is wrong cause it shows up as a 162 i think and thats bad. so change the ip address from your ipod its self. just cause the ipod says its connected still means your have to change the ip address

I also unplugged my wireless router (with itouch in range and on), waited five minutes and plugged it back in. *The itouch wireless now works!* I did notice that something wasn't right with the wireless settings. I only had an IP address and Subnet Mask showing, the router line was blank. So once the router was turned off and back on it created a router ID, which it obviously needs for the wireless to work. I hope this also helps everyone else. Eventhough all my other wireless devices were working, the router had to be off and back on to resend the id to my touch.

Just in case you don't know how to check your Wi-Fi settings:
Go to settings, choose Wi-Fi, click on the blue arrow all the way to the right of your chosen network. This brings up all the settings for your network. IP address, Subnet Mask, Router *& DNS* mine was blank, should have number's.

Hi,

Does the issue persist after restarting the wireless router and the iPod touch?
You can restart the iPod touch by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again.

Also, this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 provides general tips that will resolve most Wi-Fi issues.
