Error -9812 and -1202

OKay. I am in /tears/ from frustration at this point. Apple support has not been helpful in the least.
When I try to buy anything from iTunes or look at my account into I get the following error:
We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occured (-9812). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later.
Then when I try to fo go the redeem page I get:
We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occured (-9812). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later.

Also, when I try to use my iPhone to redeem my code the Redeem button doesn't even appear. Please please help!

I got error -1202 in iTunes 10 while attempting to subscribe to a podcast.

To work around the error, I succeeded by looking at individual episodes of the podcast, and clicking the "free download" button for one episode.

This started a successful download of the one episode.

Then I went to the podcast section of iTunes, found the one episode, and there was now a "Subscribe" button for the podcast series. Clicking on this subscribe button was successful.

Error -9812 and -1202
