White background in iTunes 9

Everyone in this thread needs to visit http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html. No one from Apple reads these posts, and will not change iTunes because of this thread.

They do, however, read feedback, and this what we all need to do.

I agree - I have just installed itunes 9 and immediately I can't believe it!! It looks terrible with white, lost its sparkle. I just assumed there would be an option to select black somewhere but NO....unbelievable.

Thanks for the link. sent them. They should put that link in a reachable place so that people could easily tell them what they think.

It's strange. The iTunes store is now mainly all white also and it looks shocking, but strangely, on the (UK) iTunes store the Films and TV Programmes section is black / grey just like the menu bar along the top of the store and it looks sooo much better, slick and easy to view. The white is just soooo Windows Live!!! I can't imagine that's a design decision, especially as there's no consistency. I hope the store and the iTunes grid view go back to black, and SOON!!!

I would like to add my voice to the list - the white is shocking!

I hate the overall UI of the new iTunes - the overly glossy feel is somewhat reminiscent of something Microsoft might produce! Apple had the grid view title bar gradients just right before, just like the MobileMe website header, and the black bars in the Trash window of Finder, or in iPhoto - altho all of these vary slightly in colour! What happened to UI consistency?

It is mind boggling that with the recent release of Snow Leopard they are so quick to change the UI styles of one of their most well-known key apps, and not for the better!

Please let us change the color to black - I really don't like the white background.

Another vote for the black background back please in grid view. I got no problem with heaven per say, but I preferred it in ****.

And while I'm here I want to be able to sort my music in any view type by any column (and for albums to be grouped and tracks correctly ordered). Why not just have one sort selection option that applies to all three view types, or that is derived from list view perhaps? If I haven't been clear, for example my current aim is to be able to my view albums (correct order and everything) in grid view ordered by the grouping column, but its infinitely useful. Whats frustrating is that I'm sure this functionality is right there, just hovering beneath the surface.

On the plus the column browser is alright.

I'm with you guys. The new store looks terrible and feels extremely cluttered now. I'm not sure why they felt the need to change it but it was definitely a terrible mistake. Not only does it look bad but it functions terribly as well. I sent a message on that feedback link but i'm worried that nothing will get done. Why did you do this apple???

I agree. Not happy with the changes. Itunes now looks more like Apple's marketing iTunes and not my itunes where i just want to use it and not enter just a big advertising thing.

Itunes has become a cheesy TV commercial, or a web page. Not my itunes player any more.

Apple, what the **** is up w/ the white background. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it! Please update ITunes to allow users choose their own background color shade.

I agree... the white background is terrible. The black was much better. I find this version very buggy and inconsistent. I don't like the way search results are displayed AT ALL.
