I have just sent my feedback:

+Dear Sirs,+
+I think there are quite a few of us who have been shocked and disappointed by the sudden and unexpected change of the old comfortable grey and black design of iTunes to this too much Apple-like glossy white all over our screens.+
+ http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2154023&start=15&tstart=0+

+I myself have some issues with my eyesight, I suffer from dry eyes and a slight photophobia and now I have a huge brilliant white screen in front of me. Terrible!+

+I think it would be very wise and nice of you to give us the chance to customize our Grid and use a black background if we want to.+

+For the time being, I'm forced to downgrade to the old version 8.+

+Thanks for your attention+

I'm all for progression, but changing the grid background to white was just an awful idea - album art looks terrible against white and is definitely harder on the eyes.

Column viewer is nice feature but it only sorts by Artist not album artist as grid view does, so it's effectively useless for my purposes and far from a substitute for grid view.

How hard can it be to give people a choice? Frustrating that I've stuck with iTunes and have my library in apple lossless when I could've been ripping to FLAC and using something more customizable.

Agreed. It looks bloody awful. It runs badly, has a user interface which conflicts with everything else (what was wrong with the usual light blue / white bg lines?).. Those little dropdowns are TERRIBLE UI... They scroll with the page and sometimes get lost under half a page. Also buggy as h.ell and slow and keeps crashing on me.

I have no idea what they have done but this is the first time I have ever thought that iTunes is a nasty program. Yuk.

Sending my rant to Apple now.

Attention ITunes people. Please see this discussion forum as a petition. The white background is painful. Change it back please.

I'm starting to lose patience with itunes. It has always been annoying that you have to use itunes if you have an ipod. I love the Ipod but ITunes is poor. It has always been unnecessarily complicated to add songs to the ipod (rivals allow you to drag and drop like any other external hard drive)and it doesn't support some good formats like flac.

As the ToU specifically ban petitions, I doubt Apple will pay much attention.

I agree SOOO BADLY. This white background needs to go, big time. Not only do I get a headache, I'm starting to wonder wherever Mac designers are white-supremacists. I mean, white symbolizes clean, and it's interesting to put it on the computer casing, but right now it seems like they're just looking for a way to stick white everywhere. Christ. Let us pick skins already Apple, what's the matter with you all, did you get stupid all of a sudden?
