ICON 225 3G Dongle

I have on of these to use on Orange in the UK. It was always a bit flakey on Leopard - I have to re-install the software every now and then.

On Snow Leopard it just caused Kernel Panics. The software is on the memory stick part of the dongle, so doesn't seem to be updatable.

Any suggestions or similar experiences?

I took out anything I could fine related to the 225, then installed the drivers mentioned upthreaad, then the Orange software.

Have a look in the Console for messages about what caused the Kernel PAnic - I certainly had them but aren't having any now.

However what I am finding is that the device is not always recognised. I have to take it out and re-plug it back in, and occasionally log out as user and log back in. Very frustrating.

Hi, I am trying to uninstall Version 1.3.0.349 of the option drivers for the Icon 225, I installed the driver to get the icon to work with snow leopard which it did. However Orange have sent me a new usb modem and I would like to remove this driver. I have already dragged the Orange internet app to app zapper but I can still see at least one option file in the Library folder, your help is much appreciated in removing these file's.

Thanks.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro, and I'm running 10.6.2 and wanted to use my Icon 225 (had previously used it with a Toshiba laptop).

The first fella I spoke to at Orange gave me the wrong advice, and directed me to the standard drivers on the site, which caused the kernel panic for me.

The next fella I spoke to though knew a lot about the problem, and also that they had a more up-to-date solution which isn't yet on the Orange site (!!! I know, jesus...)

Anyway, he directed me to it here - http://www.box.net/shared/v87p0d2sq7

...I uninstalled the previous drivers, downloaded & installed this, and I'm up and running (using it to post this)

Good luck all.
