Since upgrading to 10.6.1, I don't seem to be able to drag messages from one mailbox to another. Actually, it's the last message in the list that can't be dragged, the ones above it seem to behave normally. I can still use the context menu for the message to move it to a specific box, but no mouse-dragging.
OK, the not-dragging is erratic. Sometimes if I switch away from Mail (say to Finder) and back again, the Mail message CAN be dragged. It's as though it sometimes "hangs" or something.
I am having this same issue by the sounds of it. If I select multiple email messages, and drag them like I would have normally in leopard to a folder (mailbox), only one of the selected emails gets dragged to the folder and leaves the other(s) in the mailbox. Really frustrating and throwing me off in a big way.
I also have the same problem after updating to 10.6.1
In my inbox, I can select multiple messages and when I try and drag them into a mailbox to organize, only one of the messages will transfer over and I have to do them one at a time.
Correct. If you highlight multiple emails, then right click and move to the folder/mailbox, it works. But it does not work when dragging emails with the mouse into the folder.
Having the same exact issue. I've been chatting with a support rep since the release of Snow Leopard. We've been going back and forth testing different things out but none have resolved it.
They are unable to replicate it themselves, therefore, we're at a standstill now and asked if I can check my Mac into Apple so they can diagnose it better. Sadly, it is not a possibility to be without my Mac for a few days so I can't do that.
It is the most frustrating bug and I know a few people suffering from it along with those who posted in this thread. I'm dying to know the commonality between all of us that differentiates us from the rest of the Mac World.
This same thing is also happening to me. Frustrating bug, started happening when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Good to see it's happening to other people and not just me. When is a patch going to be issued for this?
Yup, same problem here. There is a slightly annoying solution--if you select multiple messages, then let go of all the buttons (the shift and the mouse button) then click AGAIN on the messages and drag, they should all move where you want them to.
This
definitely changed since I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Used to work without having to click twice.
Oddly, I remember having this same problem a few years ago, there was a brief period in between software updates where this same thing happened.
Hopefully they'll recognize it as an issue and fix it soon...!
And here too - but I found the cause, and the solution. Apple changed the UI so you have to HOLD the mouse down for a moment after clicking and before dragging. Then it works.
VERY VERY BAD UI design change - this is the only application that works that way (e.g. look at finder). Apple: Please change this back, and follow your own standards!
