Can't drag Mail messages with mouse

Thanks for this...hard to believe it took this many people to figure out something that is as simple as a UI change.

Not sure why apple would change something like this and not provide any notification about it anywhere...at least none that I've been able to see.

This is only slightly annoying now.

This does not sound like a "UI Change" that was done on purpose. This is a bug in my eyes, plain and simple. It worked fine in leopard, and it should work here as well. I think it's an oversight-but this temporary solution is better than nothing.

it's more than slightly annoying for me. maybe there is a secret setting in a plist somewhere that can be changed via a terminal command or something to turn that new delay off? apple, please tell us if there is.

it totally ***** when ingrained muscle-memory gestures that have been working for YEARS without necessity of thought suddenly start yielding totally different results. apple UI designers: please re-read your heidegger! this is a perfect example of a "breakdown". you are making me stop and think where i should be able to remain blissfully mindless and get on about my business.

sleeplessmedia, I totally agree. This sounds like a mistake, and not a purposeful UI change on Apple's part because it isn't easy or logical - hallmarks of their UI choices.

I wanted to chime in... same problem here and it's bugging the **** out of me. Apple, pleas listen to our complaints! It should be such a simple thing to fix!

Yes, I am having this same issue. It actually didn't occur one moment, and now I can't drag properly without waiting a moment. I did not upgrade the OS or even restart the computer - it just spontaneously happened, which means to me that this is a bug. If anyone knows how to fix it, it would be much appreciated.

So 10.6.3 is here and this still happens. I just upgraded and it's driving me nuts. I drag two emails into a mailbox and then realize a minute later that one of them is still in my inbox.

Try dragging to horizontally to the left first. It avoids the click-pause-move sequence.
