Safari/Earthlink Start Page Unstable

Beginning with installation of Safari 4.0, my Earthlink domain default browser home page became unstable. Intermittently the page loads, flashes the content then goes blank. The page header is displayed but no content. It takes two or three reload attempts before the page content remains stable. This also happens regularly when navigating back and forth between the home page and selected sites on the the main page.

I've tried most of the fixes you can readily think of. Apple sez to reinstall OS X (ugh). Using Safari, with Firefox as the browser, eliminates the problem. Unfortunately I have an extensive number of download sites saved with Earthlink.

17" iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.11), Safari 4.0.3

Add me to the list. It ONLY happens with my.earthlink.net. I get a blank page most of the time. Then I click on the 'reload' arrow and the page comes up. BUT, if I click on something within my.earthlink.net and then click 'back', the page comes up but freezes....no hyperlinks are clickable...but I can scroll up/down. I have to reload again.

I even did a clean install of OS X; ran 3.2.1 for a week or so, then upgraded to 4.0.3. Same poopoo all over again. I've probably sent 15-20 'report bugs'. Again, it's only with my.earthlink.net and NO other web sites. I guess I can take drastic measures and contact Earthlink. Somebody in India probly knows the answer.

I 'contacted' Earthlink. Actually, 'support...live chat'. Here's the great advice I got...
.....Hello, I'm Dave. I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11 and Safari 4.0.3. Since upgrading from Safari 3 to Safari 4, my start page...my.earthlink.net loads blank pages and sometimes freezes. NO other links or web sites do this. Does Earthlink have any info or fixes for this? Thx!

Solomon K: May be there is some problem with the Safari 4 browser you are using.
.....I almost responded, "Duh!" ....but held my tongue as it were....

Solomon K: The only option to fix the issue is to install any other browser in your computer.
Solomon K: I am sorry Safari 4 is a new browser and some time you will have compatible issue with it.
Solomon K: So the only option is to install a new browser.

Incredible. I could call, but the problem with phone 'support' is I'll no doubt get the same type person and answers. I reckon since this issue has persisted for so long (with many other users), I'll just revert to v3. Can't say I din try.

I also am experiencing the same problem. It started after I installed Safari 4.0. The only page where this problem occurs is the start page. Usually, reloading the page works, but sometimes that takes more than on try. Yet, sometimes the page does load correctly on the first attempt; it is very unpredictable.
