Snow Leopard Has Ruined My Titles-They Are Black Instead of Transparent

I updated with new imovie update and the title pane is still messed up. Should I trash all my plug-ins for graphics? getting ride of the earlier plug in solved part of the problem.

yes, but instead I just trashed the offending plug in and the transparency came back --however the title preview pane continues to look like the one in the picture,

Hehe I'd just like to say that like everyone else, I had my titles and backgrounds and maps screwed somehow, and after deleting the GLTools.plugin, they work properly! But the preview pane is still messed up. Hmm but I wonder how I ever got that plugin on my system...

Besides the GL Plugin, I trashed some others that went with it... audio tools, structure, image downloader, file. They were also connected to the GL Tools plugin by the same manufacturer. It didn't help with the preview pane problem......

I have a feeling that the ruining of the title panes thing might be caused by the installation of some application. I shall try to check this by installing Snow Leopard on another com fresh, and then reinstalling all the apps that I have 😀 maybe that way can tell what causes the problem! I

I trashed the GL Plugin and titles work fine but the preview pane is still greyout but works. When I put the plug in back --- as suggested by Apple engineers (They told me to do the upgrade patch on the Kieme website) The upgrade wont work because it asks what program to open with. So I trashed the plug in again because I need to use titles in imovie. It was stated by the engineers the 3rd party app is the problem and I need to update it.. but the update won't work because its asking what program to open with. Anyone out there have an ideas?

You download GLTool 1.3 but that's not an installer you double-click. There is a video tutorial and installation directions here:

Basically you need to move GLTools.plugin to /Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Patches/

I experienced the same problem!!! Hello Apple, what a big disappointment you have caused. I just switched to Mac 'cause I thought it's worth the investment, but having to experience this bug around Snow leopard, OMG, you gotta do something about this thing!

when you read this whole thread carefully, you'll notice a 'bad' 3rd party plugin causes this effect.
not Apple's fault, not Apple's issue to care about ..

I did move the plug in update to the correct folder, but my preview pane for titles is still not looking right .. basically the black box backgrounds for most title images still just have a gray background. I thought that maybe the newest OS update would fix it, but didn't make a difference. Titles work, its just a cosmetic thing at this point, but would like to have it back to normal so it looks like all the macs in the house.
