My Lacie lightscriber burner does not work now.

I was able to use the dvd burner to burn the disks but when I went to use the lightscribe software to burn a label on it, it came out all black.
I looked at the preview before I printed it and sure enough it was all black.
Of course there is no update on the Lacie website for snow leapard.
I have to print out 4 disks for weddings I just finished and I can't

Is there another good lightscribe software program that will work on the Lacie?

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5), 3 gig

HP developed the LightScribe technology and licenses it to other manufacturers.

Here's a link to Mac downloads at the LightScribe web site.

Apparently the simple labeler downloadable at the above site works - I checked the forum and you aren't the only unhappy Lacie LightScribe owner. Since it seems to that it might be an application issue and not a driver issue the Belight software may work. Unfortunately my own setup is downstairs and I recently had knee surgery - stairs are forbidden as of yet - so I can't check myself.

+*I have been using lightscribe to add the silk-screen quality to my labels on CDs for over a year. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and lightscribe no longer works. I went to the Lacie website and followed the instructions for solving the problems I am having; nothing worked. I am unable to even preview anything before I print; I don't even see any drives in the dialog box. Any information anyone may be able to share would be most appreciated+.*

I received this message from Jeremy S. at LaCie on 9 September 2009:

+As of right now there is one issue facing Lightscribe and 10.6. Foremost, we are waiting on an update from the Lightscribe creators themselves to be compatible for 10.6. When that arrives, it'll be available first here:+

+From there you should select the appropriate operating system for your computer, then on the next page the 'Lightscribe System Software (LSS)' link. That should get you to the download page, and instructions for install. I apologize but I have not been given a time table or ETA for this update.+

+If our version 1.2 software requires updating after that, it will be done immediately.+

With the help of my wife I have found that my LightScribe burner does indeed work using Belight's Disk Cover software so the problem isn't with the LightScribe's graphic driver but with Lacie's graphic software which is what I was expecting. (During beta testing several graphics programs were broken in a specific manner - transparent areas of inserted graphics lost their transparency.)

LightScribe Labeler 1.2 already appears in my Macintosh System Profiler.
When I attempted to install the LightScribe Labeler 1.2 Update, this message appeared:

+LaCie LightScribe Labeler 1.2 Update can't be installed on this computer. Error: the version of LaCie LightScribe Labeler is newer than expected: can't update.+

However, the LaCie support and download site at http://www.lacie.com/support/drivers/driver.htm?id=10061 lists as a new feature "Fixes issues with OS X 10.6."

In spite of what LaCie's download site says, the LightScribe Labeler 1.2 Update for Snow Leopard cannot be installed. Does anyone know what the problem is?
