I'm getting the error message that this needs to be re-installed. Does any one know what app is associated with this?

When attempting to install CD Spin Doctor got the CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext error message. Bummer! Looks like it could be a very useful app. Glad it's not just me.

Yes, when audio capture is working you can record any audio being played by the system. Things like music or internet radio are captured right into CDSpinDoctor. CD Spin Doctor itself is a very good way of getting your old vinyl records and cassette tapes into digital from. After you apply filters to clean up the scratches and noise you can even export directly into iTunes. It really works well. I've processed a number of old LPs with CD Spin Doctor with very acceptable results.

Just waiting patiently for Roxio to release the Snow Leopard patches.

I have to agree that when CD Spin Doctor worked, it was a very useful application. I have converted 100s of vinyl albums to digital and imported all the cuts into iTunes. While there were lots of bugs in CDSD, there were workarounds for many of them.

Unfortunately, something changed for me on 2/14/09; well before I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I went back to my library of songs and determined that something on my system changed between noon and midnight on 2/14, and it caused CDSD to insert some low level distortion during the "save as" process. Songs converted to digital prior to that date/time had no noise, while songs imported and converted after that date/time had the noise. Right after importing a song, and prior to saving an imported audio file, there is no noise other than what is typical on a record.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can see if there are any files on my computer that conflict with CD Spin Doctor? Someone thought it might be an offending plug-in, but I was not able to find any that caused the issue.

Once Roxio releases a new version of Toast 10 and CDSD, I will try it, but I fear that it will not address my core issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Toast/CDSD 6-8 times. I have attempted to repair permissions multiple times. I have even gone so far as to do a clean install of 10.6.1, but the noise-on-saving issue does not go away.

I am not a novice computer user, but I have run out of ideas/options. Any other ideas out there?

Roxio released the Toast 10.0.3 update last night. I downloaded and installed the update early this morning without issues. CD Spin Doctor installed the updated audio capture .kext without complaint. Everything seems to be working okay.

You will, of course need to login to your account before you can download the update. There's one caveat, though. This update is some 860+ megabytes. I hope you all have broadband connections.
