Diagonal Lines in Screenshot?

Hi,
one of my colleagues uses Leopard latest version on a MacBook Pro and makes screenshots with SHIFT-APPLE-4.

Sometimes it works and sometimes he gets this screenshot (Happenned in Preview and Acrobat).

Any ideas anyone?

Hi guys any takers?

Ive now seen the problem again. Logging out and back in removes it until...the next time.

oh yes and its app independent it also happens in the finder and shift apple 3 also gives the lines.

To make it more interesting I guess, the lines are sometimes white and sometimes black...

Does anyone know in which file the Screenshot prefs are stored?

Sorry man. Looks like nobody knows why this happens. I posted in a couple of threads to see.
I have a similar problem, when I make a screenshot it comes gray with vertical lines like this:

I can fix this either restarting or doing a RAM reset (option command+PR) while restarting, but it eventually comes back.
