Landscape Printing

I'm missing something simple here. I created a Pages document in landscape format and cannot get it to print in that format. When the print menu opens, the preview shows up correctly, but it prints like a vertical document. The layout direction is all greyed out in the print menu, so I cannot change that. It does that with both printers I have connected (Epson r280 and Brother 1440 laser). Any thoughts?

MAC PRO, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 7 GB RAM

My Pages 09 Print menu doesn't have a layout direction option. That option is set in the Pages Document Inspector, as you must have done. Where are you seeing that option in the Print dialog?

You should see:

+Menu > File > Print > Orientation > click on the icon with the man on his side+

If it is different for you, post an image here of your dialogue box using Flickr.com or photobucket.com

Copy the address of the image and paste it here with an exclamation mark on either side of the url.

Instead of "Orientation", the print dialog has "Layout Direction"; and it is greyed out, so I cannot change it. The document can be downloaded here: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/224808/Wedding%20Case%20Template%20copy.pages

I have a Brother HL-2040 Laserprinter and a HP Deskjet F380.

Your printer orientation in the document seems to be correctly set up for both, in:

+Menu > File > Page Setup…+

with the man-on-side icon selected.

But those are my printer drivers.

Try sourcing the latest versions of your printer drivers and reinstalling them.

I never saw such a menu item in Apple applications.

I assumes that you wanted to write:

*Menu > File > Page Setup…*

Which is the same that:

*Inspector > Document > Page Setup…*

Well I finally got it to work by changing the paper size to 8.5x11 rather than 11x8.5 in Page Layout. I've never had to do that before with Pages or in Indesign, so not sure why now.
