Logic not recognizing east/west PLAY - suggestions?
I am an intermediate user, know my way around logic. Logic 9 installed without issue, existing plugs are all good. Installed Omnisphere, works great. Installed the EastWest composers package and the PLAY engine which hosts the instruments works just fine stand alone, but is not available as a plug within Logic. I have been back and forth with EastWest support and they say to update/reinstall play which I have done. I have tried to have logic rescan for AU, not present. Play.component is in the appropriate folder.
Almost sounds like logic could've scanned it the first time through without an ilok or its drivers present and decided that it was incompatible. You should download the latest drivers from ilok.com, then start the audio unit manager in Logic, sort alphabetically, and see if the PLAY audio unit is listed. If it is, make sure its box is checked, and if it won't let you recheck it, rescan it.
I'm having the exact same issue, using Logic Studio 9 with EastWest Quantam Leap RA & Symphonic Orchestra Silver with the PLAY engine. Standalone works fine. Nothing shows up in Logic; tried installing the iLok drivers and rescanning with no success.
After reading other posts, I found the most simple solution -- REBOOT. If you haven't done this already. It's a pretty obvious thing that can be overlooked since it doesn't tell you to reboot after installation.
