How do I align objects on both sides?

I use Pages '08 on my MacBook and I want to make some cards for activities and games. When I try to print things on both sides, the cards don't line up. It takes a lot of patience and paper to get the cards even close, and I know there has to be an easier way to do it.

I usually make my cards on Numbers, but I have the same problem there. If anyone can help me align my cards with either Pages or Numbers, I would be grateful.

MacBook, It's black with an apple on it...

In my world can the cards look in many different ways. You need to explain in more detail how they look, what features you are using in the applications and why this aligning on both sides is about. You could link us to an image of your cards maybe?

Is it the marginals, is it something with the printer, are you putting the cards in several documents or inn one, etc ?

Here's what I do:

I make a rectangle (usually 5 cm x 8 cm) from "shapes" icon on my toolbar.

Since I need many playing cards, I make about ten face cards on one page.

I then copy those cards and put them on the next page. I am careful to center the objects.

After that I replace the text on the face cards and put a back design on the copied cards. So far, so good.

Here's where I get a headache: When I print as a two-sided document, the cards don't line up. I have to measure them again and try to adjust them manually. It usually takes four or five times to get it right.

There's got to be an easier way. I'm tired of wasting time trying to tweak the cards. I'm wasting time, paper, and money. Is there some sort of item in the toolbar that I have overlooked or something?

I usually make the cards on Numbers, but I was hoping I could do them on Pages as well.

I can't phantom why you try a thing like this in Numbers, but then again I only use Numbers for keeping track on my income.
What are the Margins in the document? They should be the same on all the edges.
I would do these cards in Pages Layout mode (can be done in Word Processing mode too.

You could start with a business card template and erase the content. From the Section icon in the toolbar add a second page. Use Cmd + A to select all and then delete. Whats left is the blue gridlines. The blue lines wont print but there are also cutting lines at the edges that will print.

Make your card using text boxes and shapes as you described. Save and Print. If your Printer is not playing up you should be able to cut out the cards without problem.
