Preview app not working properly in SL

Same thing happened to me. It would also create white blocks in parts of the picture, changing or disappearing when I scrolled through images. 32-bit mode did not work for me. However, on Mac Fixit someone said validating your fonts in fontbook and then deleting the rogues fixed it for him. I did this and found four "Warning" fonts. Deleted them and it started working again. Now it works intermittently. This problem is NOT solved as far as I'm concerned.

I went to my fontbook and saw a bunch of duplicates and resolved all the duplicates.
There are two I can't resolve, Times and Courier both are used a lot, so I went to validate then and yes they had errors but I did not want to remove them for fear of removing the whole Courier or Times font completely.

I was having the same problem. I switched to 32 bit and it did not fix it. I called applecare and they suggested resetting the PRAM (turn the machine off. Hold down P R Option & Command. Listen for 3 restart chimes and letgo)

I Have the same problem, but only when parallels desktop 5.0 is running. When I shut it off it works fine. I am running snow leopard. Don't know if I am running 32 bit preview app, will check

I noticed that the problem no longer exists after upgrading the OS to 10.6.2. Preview now performs properly

I can't get open jpegs in Preview.
A MAC Genius suggested rebuilding the operating system of my MAC to correct this
issue with Preview.
Has anyone else gone to this extreme?

I am having the same problem, only it is using 10.6.2 snow server. Nothing I have done has resolved the issue.

I have the same problem with Preview, it doesn't show the image files.
How can I open the Preview app in 32 bit?
