Idvd ejecting while in the burn stage

The DVD ejects before completing at the burn stage, DVD empty. this is after 53 minutes of multiplexing and everything right down to the burn stage. I have 99.38 GB on my mac pro and I was using leopard with the same problem moved up to snow leopard and still having the same problem. Please help. I have tried different dvds = sony R and maxwell rw.

Just found a 20 disc spindle of Verbatim DVR+ DL discs on Amazon for $25.99 with free shipping. Computer genius I am not, but I can find the best deal out there. Didn't go with DVR- DL because my burner doesn't support that media. Will update this wall post if it works. Haven't yet seen anyone post something that actually worked for them, so I'll admit I'm skeptical.

Ok, it is definitely the DVD I am using. Was able to backup pictures on a hp +RW 4x dvd but not the memorex +R 8x dual layer dvd ...

It should work (most of the time) but then again it doesn't surprise me given the brand.

Verbatim, Tiayo Yuden, and Maxell must be doing something correctly or at least a bit more favorable since they have a 99% success rate. Memorex is significantly lower than 99% on most macs. May have to do with organic dye levels (not sure) or perhaps vendor shelf life. Maybe it's a combination of both as well as other factors that have to do with current practices in bulk media production. Simply stated, you get what you pay for.

Same problem and my disc image is not working either. Are Staple dvd as ******? I tried burning another short project with toast and it worked... (Updated to Leopard not long ago and still working with idvd 7.0.4) Does anyone of you think I should update idvd as well or it would not change a thing?

Would you be able to tell me if it's iDVD that's sensible to the Brands or your burner?
Because in my case I can burn with Toast but never with idvd content.

Hi MDmacuser, I am back. Received the dvd cleaner finally and it did not help. But on top of that about a month ago my logic board went on the macbook pro. It is now fixed and I will see if I can burn a dvd in the next couple of weeks. Keep you posted. I can see that I am not alone on this issue. p.s. the 90th birthday dvd was finally completed on my imac.

They do work most of the time. But they are considered bulk media (second to the brands already recommended above).

Having the exact same problem! I am using a Verbatim 8x DVD +R DL to try and burn my larger movie files...

I dont understand why these discs wont work!?

Maybe you can fill us in on the details of your mac. Which model is it? Is it a new computer? More importantly, does it have an S-Drive that burns to this newer media (Dual Layer)? Look in system profile. It'll tell you which types of media you can write to on your computer.
