No Airport Card Installed

I am having trouble with my Powerbook G4 logging on to the internet. The airport is messed up. When I click on the icon on my toolbar, it says "no airport card installed." Any suggestions how to fix it?

Hi,

I don't know why but today my Macbook decided to uninstall the Airport Card,

The solution i found was this (although not discovered by me)

Shut Down the computer
Remove the Power Cable and Battery
Hold the power for five seconds
Re-Insert the power and battery
Hold the following until turn on, Command, Option, P & R and power
Release the power and wait for a chime (i only got one, Phira says three)
When the computer restarts release the buttons and you should be able to power on the Airport card.

I experience the same problem. Yesterday night my MacBook Pro (Late 2008 Model) got stuck and after the restart my airport diplays "no airport card installed" when clicking on it.

I tried all following steps:

- Resetting SMC ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964)
- Resetting PRAM / NVRAM ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379)
- Formatting HD Reinstalling Mac OS X 10.6
- Restore TiemMachine Backup of a time when Airport still worked
- Installing Windows 7 using BootCamp to try make Airport work with Windows Drivers
- Installed Aiport Client Update ( http://support.apple.com/kb/DL973)
- Executing sudo rm -rf /SYstem/Library/Extensions.mkext (and then enter password and then restart) on Terminal
- using Pacifist, reinstalling AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kex from Mac OS X 10.6 Installation Disc and restart

ALL ATTEMPTS WITHOUT SUCCESS

I can't find the files AppleAirport.kext and AppleAirport2.kext, usually found in System/Library/Extensions (as far as i know). They should be there, right? Maybe that's the problem. How can i fix this? Using Pacifist i can't find those files on my Mac OS X 10.6 Installation DVD

Running the Hardware Test i find the following error:
4MOT/1/40000002; RIght side-0
anyone got an idea what it means?

Please Help! Thanks
