"Community Toolbar"

Hello,
I download "Jabref" from Internet (a software to organize bibliographic references) and I can't opend it. The message is "We're sorry, but the Safari browser version you are currently using does not support the community toolbar".
What does that means?
I have the impression that MacBook Pro is less compatible with Internet download that MacBook, because since I bought it I have had many problems...??
Thanks!
Consuelo.

witomski is right. "If you do not have the "toolbar" folder, then re-install the Safari Community Toolbar app, then perform above."

Here's a link to the file: http://ct12555.ourtoolbar.com/

NOTE: the download button will only give you the Firefox version. You need the Safari version. Just click on the Safari icon next to "Other Versions:" at the bottom of the page. That will automatically download the file. The file is called "Safari.zip" However, it is really just the Community Toolbar for Safari. Install it. Then do as witomski suggests: Go to the Toolbars folder in your Applications folder. Select the Community Toolbar, then run the Unistaller. Viola! No more "Community Toolbar" message.

It's a Christmas miracle!

Hi Jim. Please disregard my post at 1:33 AM!

Hi Jim.

Bart Gibb ( above) gave me the perfect solution:

Hi pdm,
Guess what???
In the interim I accidentally found the problem with not being able to get rid of the Toolbars.
Safari had quit unexpectedly with the following info showing the path to WHERE the problem lay:
/Library/Application Support/Conduit/Plugins/cttoolbar.bundle

I located the plugin (cttoolbar.bundle) and removed it from the folder.
Upon opening Safari the Toolbars were not there.
I put the bundle back in and presto... the Toolbars were back. I once more removed the bundle and needless to say they have not returned.
Thank you for your help.

The problem with this is that if you ever had a tool bar and just deleted it not pressing the uninstall button there is a file somewhere in the system folder that i cant find. When i clicked uninstall it never showed up again. if you never had a toolbar bring you macbook/macbook pro to your local genius bar. If you have an iMac call 1-800-MY-APPL

I'm sorry. I'm trying to follow your instructions and missing something very basic. It's embarassing because I've worked with Macs for more than twenty years. When you say "Finder" I can think only of the Mac GUI with its desktop and folder system. Yes there is no application called "Toolbars" so I know I'm in the wrong place. Neither can I find anything like this in Safari menus.

Will you kindly indulge me and set me straight? Thank you so much.

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!

Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:

/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit

where / is your the root library on your Hard Disk.
