Unable to Print in Windows with Vmware Fusion HP LaserJet 1006

Prints fine on the Mac with 10.6.1 and HP driver updates.
Printer worked flawlessly with Leopard 10.5.8

Will not print in windows. Open the print queue and it says it is printing (it isn't), sometimes the message is that it is waiting for the printer to become available, (printer is available).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've never used Fusion, but in Parallels you have the option to let the host OS or the guest OS use your USB devices (I assume your printer is connected via USB). Have you checked that your guest OS can use your USB port(s)?

Yes, all my settings appear correct.
I doubt if the driver is not compatible because other users haven't complained.

The print job gets sent to the printer, but it wont print. It says waiting for printer to become available. When this happens I am also unable to print from the Mac side and have to restart the computer to be able to print from the MacBook. Simply turning off the printer and then turning it on doesn't help.
