How to use "Find my iPhone" with 2 iPhones on the same MobileMe account

I have 2 active iPhones which are all set up and working well with the same MobileMe account. Both are iPhone 3G models running 3.1 software. All data syncing, etc. is working perfectly. However when I go into "Find my iPhone" only one of the phones is listed. How can I get both phones to show up so that either one could be found if lost?

iPhone 3G, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for the response, but I don't see a "Find my iPhone" setting in the Mail, Contacts, etc. prefs. I have compared the settings in this section on both phones and they are identical. For that matter there is no "MobileMe" settings in this area either. Find my iPhone is enabled on the MobileMe website but only one of the phones shows on the page and I have been unable to figure out how to have the 2nd phone show up.

Matt,
Yes, Location Services is turned on and all other aspects of MobileMe are working properly on both phones. My contacts & calendar sync correctly. My @me.com mail account is working. I have no problem making iTunes or App Store purchases on either phone. I can access my MobileMe iDisk without difficulty, etc. So I'm stumped.

I've been unable to find anything in Apple's support section which states whether or not it is even POSSIBLE to have 2 iPhones work with the find my phone feature. That's why I resorted to asking the question here.

In your initial response you asked me to check for the setting under General>Mail, Calendar, Contacts but I don't see any setting for Find my iPhone on either phone. Do you have some setting that I'm not seeing? If so would you mind taking a screen shot so I can see what I should be looking for?

Thanks for bearing with me on this.

It is possible.

In your initial response you asked me to check for the setting under General>Mail, Calendar, Contacts but I don't see any setting for Find my iPhone on either phone.

On the iPhone launch Settings. Then tap Mail, Contact, Calendars and you'll see a list of Accounts.

Tap your MobilMe (or .Mac) account and at the bottom of the list of settings you're presented with should be Find My iPhone.

Matt,
Thanks for the explanation. I did find the Find My iPhone switch on the bottom of the settings page in the .Mac email account settings within Mail prefs. This seems to be where the problem lies. The Find My iPhone switch is off. However when I click it the switch first turns on and then a window pops up explaining "This enables you to locate this iPhone on a map at me.com" and presents me with a choice to either ALLOW or CANCEL. When I tap ALLOW, the pop up goes away and the switch goes back to OFF. I've tried this many times with the same result. I have rebooted the phone and tried the normal sync process with iTunes after the attempts to no avail. The switch keeps returning to the off position. Any suggestions?

Matt,

I just got off of a 1hr 37min chat with Apple Support. We were able to get both phones to show up.

The problem has been escalated however because both phones are now showing a location that is off by 5-10 miles. So they're supposed to contact me in 24-48 hours.

The odd thing is that when only my wife's phone was working on the Find My iPhone page this morning the location was spot on with an error of only about 100 feet. A 5-10 mile error is not very helpful if we lose one of our phones. So we'll see what happens next.

Thanks again for your assistance.
