HDCP Authorized display issue with Mac Mini

Has anyone encountered or know of a solution to the following? I recently downloaded free TV HD Episodes from iTunes store. When I tried to view these on my Mac Mini which is connected to a 24" Apple Cinema Display, I get the following error:

"This movie cannot be played because a display that is not authorized to play protected movies is connected.

Try disconnecting any displays that are not HDCP authorized."

I tried the same movie playing off of my MacBook Pro connected to the same monitor and it worked fine. I have also tired to switch between the display adapters on the Mac Mini and still not solution.

Can any help?

I heartily suggest that anyone experiencing this issue submit feedback to Apple. There should at least be a warning that this content may not be playable on older displays.

This is ridiculous! I have a semi new (one year old) Samsung TV that i watch everything on. It wouldn't let me watch my film I bought tonight. BOUGHT, like I own the rights for a private screening. That is what buying a DVD gets you. I will never buy from iTunes again, not until, at least, they fix this ridiculously absurd censorship.

I'm running into the same problem with my Mac Pro 12 core. I'm running dual monitors. On my secondary monitor a view sonic it plays fine, but if I drag the video window to my Cintiq tablet screen it pops up an error window saying that this display is not authorized?

It seems to only be happening with the HD quality videos. The Standard definition play fine on both screens.

What shenanigans is apple up to now?

I had the same issue. I have an 3 year old 30" Mac Screen and a new one. So I opened the video in quicktime which automatically opened on my old screen and would not work. So I just dragged the quicktime window over to my new screen - the error message disappeared and it played perfectly.

Hi all,
you guys are NOT listening.
As davidangel said, this is a Hollywood's doing & the rest of the (smaller) players have to agree - or not sell anything.
It's the same on windows side...

If hollywood were to make purchasing more reasonable, easy and better priced, piracy on the internet would be done for. Everybody deserves to make a living if they get off the couch and do something, but geez, really? How much do we pay for this drivel. Conspiracy theories on youtube are generally more entertaining.

Instead they have to behave in such a confrontational manner so that I take great pleasure waiting hours, and retrying downloading questionable torrents. In this century, piracy is not criminal behavior, It is a reaction to bullying. Hollywood, adjust your behavior or become irrelevant.
