HP Officejet 6110 All In One - Scanning?

HP support lists the 6110 or 6100 series for print only. Scan is not supported. Has anyone figured out how to make a 6100 scan using SL? I was scanning just fine for several days after installation of SL but today I get a busy error saying I need to select a scanner in Directory/Imagezone.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

JKW,

I have a pleasant surprise for you. We are currently wrapping up testing on scan drivers for a whole bunch of addition devices, including yours. While that doesn't help today, with any luck you should have Scanning back by the end of the month (assuming that testing doesn't expose any major problems).

Just trying to help.

Thanks Roger, sorry I wasn't very clear I am getting it to print just fine the problem I am having is that it won't scan any more. It scans just fine on my PPC under Leopard but with Snow Leopard on my Intel Mac mini which I want to use as my main computer now it is not working.

I am getting closer now thanks to that big update because now when I click on "Open Printer Utility" it shows "Applications". Then I can choose to show scanner in the dock. The only problem is it is not showing up as a device found that can scan.

So sad 😟.

Skillet,
I have Snow Leopard printing and scanning with my 6110 all in one. Look at my earlier entry in this string dated Oct 12. I used the older HP software and driver. Now using the HP scan I can scan, it has been working for several months now. It prints over the network and USB but the scan with the HP software only works over USB. Andrew commented that it is not a 32 bit solution but it works for now.

For whatever reason that is not working for me. I uninstalled software from a comprehensive list I found from HP and restarted disconnected USB even pulled the power plug and reconnected repaired disk permissions and restarted a few times, installed the 10.2.8 software and nothing seems to work.
The 4.0.3 software won't install on my machine.

I am not sure how you got it to work but I have been spending several hours over the course of weeks trying to get this to work!

Any word on scan support for OfficeJet 6110 and Mac OS 10.6.2?

HP Mac Architect wrote:

Short term that should work. Longer term Scan drivers for the Officejet 6110 have passed testing, so its just a matter of getting them distributed. What I would do if I were you is use what you have working until you see the next update come out. At that point, delete all the HP software first, and then install the update. That should give you Print & Fax capabilities on your Officejet 6110.
