HV40/ HFS11 and MD42/MD46

HV40/ HFS11 and MD42/MD46

Does anyone know if the Sennheiser MD 42/MD 46 will work with the Canon HV40/HFS11. The only way it seems to connect them is 3.5mm to xlr (female). I don't think the Sennheisers have batteries, so would phantom power be able to travel through them? Is there any other way to make this work? Thank you very much in advance.

No need for phantom power.

Make up a cable with XLR on end (to mic) and a 3.5 pin on the other(to camera).
Any tech should be able to do this or do it yourself if confident.

IMO: Too many adapters piggy backed together is always trouble waiting to happen.
