Since i installed Snow Leopard, iMovie has stopped working properly: unable to load themes correctly, where it should appear the video image is a black distressing. So for many transitions and title too. Any suggestion?
I made a few tests, and found some 'bad guy' in my Lib ... Patch/HowTo on my website: http://karsten.schluter.googlepages.com/im09losttransparencypatch offers a very rude patch of half of that problem. a) the Title's Preview Pane still shows the infected, damaged titles ... b) but the Project's Preview is now fully functional c) and exported Projects contain transparent titles ... hope that helps ..
I fixed this issue by uninstalling iMovie (using AppCleaner to get all the associated files in the library) and re-installing iMovie from the iLife disk.
I used AppCleaner to remove iMovie 09, then I reinstalled it from the disc. But that didn't solve the crashing problem and imovie still doesn't work.
I would like to import photos from iPhoto by following the directions and dragging them from the iphoto viewer to the project window, but this won't work. And, if I do anything else, imovie crashes.
I take a clip and change the speed. Then I add transition from the previous clip to this one and all of a sudden I cannot play the video again. I can't delete the slowed down clip even. I can play video that is in the events library, but not that in my project. When I do mouse over the beginning of my video and play I can hear the sound but it is like it is far off in the distance and the video is just solid gray. I have run into many other similar bugs when changing the speed of a clip but could always delete the clip, quit, relaunch, and try again. With this problem I added a transition and can't even delete the clip. Apple please address this issue. Thanks!
