Aluminum feels rough at palm rests. Cure anyone?

So ive had my macbook for about 2 weeks now and im starting to notice that around the palm rest of my macbook pro (unibody june 2009) feels rough, just not the same. Is it from using the macbook and oils or sweat for my hands just degrading the aluminum slowing which is now making the aluminum rough? Has anyone else notice this or am i just confusing myself and just think its a rougher feel to it.

If anyone has come across this can anyone give me some tips on how to prevent it from now on or to slow the process down? Besides keeping clean and dry because i do wash my hands everytime i go to use my macbook. And other than a malware protection or silicon protection sleeve. Thanks for any help.

I also have noticed that with my MacBook pro unibody. I don't think it is from the natural oils or yourwrists, I believe the design is just like that. After a certain amount of usage I used to get a lot of discomfort from my wrists resting on the sharp edges. What I did was just purchase a mouse instead of having to use the trackpad.

My mother made me take typing class in high school, 10th grad, back in the day, 1969 I guess. I hated her for that at that time. Why would any self respecting boy or man ever need to touch a typewriter keyboard?

Who knew that such a thing as a computer keyboard would be come as common as shoestrings?

Anyway, one thing they taught us in typing class is that your finger tips are the only thing that should touch the keys or the machine itself. You RH forefinger would of course strike the carriage return lever.

So, the moral of the story is you should not have your body parts resting on the computer's body parts.

Would it be possible for you to produce a clear closeup photo of your aluminum and post a link to it here? The natural texture of the MBP is rough. It is not glossy smooth. The trackpad is glass and is smooth. I would expect it to remain smooth even if you ooze acid! Hydrochloric acid will etch aluminum very rapidly and your stomach has that in it. I suppose some people could be tough on aluminum. You might try handling other aluminum items (not soda cans as they are coated) and see what happens.

Hey thanks for the replies. For the photo of the macbook, it honestly looks exactly the same as the rest of the macbook. I cant even notice any difference up close, so i doubt anyone could through a photo. I have to graze my finger along the side (beside the keyboard, under the power button) over to where my palms rest and thats where i feel the difference.

Has anyone heard or knows of anyone personally who have used the - invisible shields?

and for the MOSHI palm guard. To user's do you find it takes away from the look or feel or overall appreciation of your macbook?

I just feel that the roughness after only 2 weeks is unbelievable compared to how long i was expecting on keeping the macbook (3 years) I can only imagine what it could feel like in the futue.:S
