website width
I am a photographer designing a new site to showcase my work. I want to make sure people with smaller displays can see the whole page/photo. I feel like 800 is too small... 980 is too big. Now I feel like Little Red Riding Hood lol.
I think it was Alanctio who posted the below a while back... is 980 wide really the best way to go or can I go smaller? Should I not worry so much about people looking at sites on iphones yet?
[Gary ~ Apple's own design award-winning site at apple.com mostly has a width of 980 pixels. Apple's developer guidelines for the iPhone/iPod touch say: "Safari on iPhone also sets the viewport width to 980 pixels, the width of most webpages." And: "...if your webpage is less than 980 pixels wide causing it to scale too small on iPhone..."]
thanks, Lisa
