Can I play .m3u/pls files on my Apple TV?

My suggestion would be to play it in your iTunes and then choose to stream it through the Remote Speakers feature to your AppleTV.

No, an m3u file is not a media file, it's a text file that carries instructions to point the user to a stream located somewhere else.

Hey guys, i'm having the same port 3689 error, been on the phone to apple for a week solid trying to fix the problem... do you know whether its an issue with the ATV or the imac? Im getting to the point of demanding a new unit as i am still in the warranty period. Its become a joke, when speaking to tech support, i am forever deleting my itune tracks and re-importing them and then re-syncing... it takes days to sync my whole library as i have 12,000 songs...
